Most language models have a point in time up to which their knowledge (training data) extends. By default, there is therefore no knowledge of current events, such as the war in Ukraine.
This problem can be solved by using the Google search extension. A search query is sent to Google and the contents of the first search results are forwarded to the language model together with the question. In addition, the current sources are also provided to enable a fact check.
To use it, please click on the lightning bolt in the chat bar on the left and switch to “Google Search” in the pop-up.
After sending the question, the model responds with current content:
